VINEET KUMAR
INSPECTOR GENERAL
STC BSF CHAKUR

IG's MESSAGE

It gives me immense pleasure and honor to assume command of Subsidiary Training Centre, Chakur (MH) which is transforming our young recruits into physically tough, mentally robust and professionally sound bordermen who always remain committed to the safety, security and sanctity of Nation’s land borders. Apart from the basic training of recruits, this institute imparts specialized training to trained soldiers of BSF i.e. conducts force level UID courses, various in-service mandatory courses, promotion cadre courses, refresher courses for the posted staff and State police training.

Besides professional training, this STC has also contributed towards protection and preservance of the environment and development of society by voluntarily engagements with civil authorities and sister agencies.

Training is a continuous process of learning, scaling up the skills and knowledge, STC Chakur is marching with confidence to assume critical role in training landscape of the Force. Our endeavor is overall development of trainees and to improve the efficiency of recruit trainees in drill, physical fitness, and firing. My personal focus is on inculcating moral values and embibing good ethics in the life of our Jawan’s. We as a team of instructors are fully committed in achieving desired goals of transforming a civilian into a physically tough, mentally robust and a professionally sound bordermen.

This STC was raised on 5th April 1986 at TC&S BSF, Meru Camp Hazaribagh and subsequently shifted to Chakur on 1st Jan’2007. STC BSF Chakur has a beautiful campus on the hill spreads across 464.68 acres (188.05 Hectares) land in Balaghat plateau of Marathwada region which experiences 700 mm of average rainfall. During summers the temperature ranges from 25°C to 45°C and in winters it comes down to 11° C. The landscape is hilly and undulated, covered with grass, shrubs and medium size trees.
